Incentives

A few days ago, I found myself mindlessly scrolling on social media. I was only on the platform for a few minutes – I currently limit my social media consumption to 5 minutes per platform per day for the sake of my sanity and productivity – and yet, the platform captured my attention with a sponsored post for a service that was most likely targeted at me because of my creative interests.  The service –…

On Originality

The other night, we saw Singing In The Rain in the theatre. It was a belated birthday gift – or experience – that was booked on my behalf, and while I was very much looking forward to it, I had no idea what to expect. What’s more, I didn’t do any research beforehand, not even a sneak peek online, because I like to be pleasantly surprised when I go to see a musical, play, or…

Knowing Vs Doing: The Chasm

I spend most of my Friday nights indoors with my tribe. We watch documentaries – mostly on nature, science, politics, and pop culture – and we discuss ideas over food and bottomless cups of tea. Do The Thing!

What a day! Today is the day the first installment of my newsletter goes out. If you…

New Beginnings

Something I’ve always wanted to do was to share insights into my creative process and spark conversations with friends, creatives, fans, and anyone who’s interested. To this end, I had the spark to start a newsletter a while back. This spark came courtesy of Austin Kleon, one of my favourite creatives, and I can’t recommend his newsletter and books enough.  It’s taken a while, but I’ve finally gotten around to creating it, and it would…

Something Good

I’m pleased to announce that my first release of the 2021 – Something Good – will be available to listen everywhere on Friday, 29th January. The story of this song (and in fact its writing) goes back to the start of the first lockdown. It’s been in the works for almost a year and yet I find that it’s just as relevant to me now as it was when I wrote it. I’ll have more…

2021

Happy New Year 🙂 2020 has come and gone, and what a year it was!! I imagine that for most people, this new year has brought with it expectations and renewed hope; a blank slate for us to start over, to be better, kinder, happier versions of ourselves. Here’s hoping that good things are on the horizon. I’m looking forward to new music, exciting adventures, palpable pleasure and purpose in equal measure. Thank you for…

I’m playing an acoustic showcase in Leeds on Saturday, 17th of August. This will be followed by two appearances on Saturday, the 25th of August – first at Bolton Food and Drink Festival (afternoon), then at Fuel Cafe Bar in Manchester (evening).
